My name is Jean-Paul Krammer and I am an independent fine art and freelance editorial and documentary photographer. I am also a freelance writer with commissions from multiple travel magazines.
I have adopted photography because this particular art not only arrest the flow of time but also allows me to create an honest representation of the real world trough subjectivity. The magic of light rewards with a glimpse into a gap in time, that provides more than a fragmentary impression. Every time I take a picture I am dealing with chance, otherwise that magic instant would escape my grasp.
Photography is not just technique and skill. It is about the whole person —the sum of what you read, what you have seen, what you listen, what you have experienced, what you believe—.
I want to tell you that picturing America’s National Parks, is a dream for every Photographer. Every Park has its unique rhythms. Nature is always changing and to have the possibility of making time come to a stop in such an impressive places is a pleasure that can’t be ignored or denied. Photographing the National Parks is my way to celebrate the splendor of landscape.
I love to use photography to connect viewers with the wonders of the world and I enjoy when people imagine stories looking my pictures. As the landscapes covering the National Parks, the aim of this idea lies in the combination of empathy with boldness and delicacy with strength.
In the future, these images will remain as a time capsule enshrining the world as it has evolved over the years and more. These photographs will crisscross other paths in time and in space. They will document not only the transformation of the landscape but also our way of being during the first years of the XXI Century.
